I began this journey because of my own health issues with inflammation, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and weight gain. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 29. My inflammation and joint pain were so bad that I could only wear tennis shoes, and at times couldn't even lift my daughter from her crib. My weight kept increasing. For years I tried various prescriptions, none of which helped, and usually the side effects were worse than my arthritis pain. Through out this I was in a highly stressful financial management job. It wasn't until I went through Yoga instructor school that I realized the stress and poor diet choices had everything to do with my disease. I began to read nutrition books and experiment with my diet as I made the leap to leave my financial management job and focus on teaching yoga. I soon found that as I fine tuned my diet choices by decreasing inflammatory foods, the better I felt. I have been able to reduce my arthritis medications by 50%. Through this journey of improving my own health I became passionate about nutrition and cooking healthy, whole foods that taste amazing for me and my family. This passion led me to pursue training as a health coach.
I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition*, where I studied a variety of dietary theories and practical lifestyle coaching methods. With my knowledge, we co-create completely personalized actions based on your goals to move you toward your ideal vision of health within your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and resources. I am located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and in addition to in-person consultations I can provide online consultations to fit your schedule.
